The School Leaving Certificate (SLC) is taken by Department of Education Nepal. The office of the controller of the examination OCE is planning to publish SLC 2070 results by wednesday, June 12 2013.

Right now all the marks have been entered into the system and are being proof-read. The OCE is not printing out the results on paper this time due to the budget constraints. The result will be available via different web sites and SMS system.

A total of 547,165 students sat the 79th iteration of the SLC exams held on March 13-24 earlier this year. Of them, 4 30,097 are regular and 117,068 are exempted students.

To get the result via NTC telecom the following sms should be sent.

Every year, when new academic course starts there is always the problem of textbook shortage. The sole publisher and distributor of the government textbook,Janak Shikshya Samagri Kendra (JSSK), always has some trouble regarding the printing and supply of the books.

This year Nepal government had launched a school enrollment program which was coincided with the new academic session however due to the shortage of books it has not been successful.

Six months since the printing started, 16 million books, including those in stock, are ready against the target of 19.7 million sets for this year. According to JSSK spokesperson Manohar Lamichhane, most of the printed books have been dispatched to different districts, targeting those in the hill and rural areas first. However, a report of the textbooks monitoring committee presents a different picture. “Books are inadequate in majority of the districts be it from the Tarai like Banke and Rupandehi or from hills like Gorkha and Lamjung,” said Suprabhat Bhandari, president of Nepal Guardians’ Association and a member of the monitoring committee.

Director General Ram Chandra Silwal has assured to meet the target of 19.7  in two weeks. Let's see what happens then. But looking at all the past records of JSSK, there is little hope that they will finish supplying the books by the end of two weeks. What do you think??

SLC is there and the Nepal government has reduced the load shedding by only 2 hours! What a joke! How will the students will prepare for there SLC starting from Thursday, March 24, 2011.
Its a same to the Nepal Government to not give electricity even in the SLC examination which is known as the 'Iron Gate' and valued most by students and parents alike.
And this time around the SLC exam was supposed to be 'cheat free exam'. Government had also made the announcement that they would fine upto 1 Lakh for cheating. But the policy has not been implemented. Somewhere they found 2 sacks full of cheats.

A website which intends to teach Nepali children born in the United States to read and write the Nepali language, has been launched.

The creator of the free website sabdamala.com, Shailesh Ghimire, said that although his intention had been to help children learn Nepali, the website would benefit everyone. He added that he considered it a major tragedy that while many parents abroad teach their children to speak Nepali, the written language is grossly neglected and that he had decided to design the course to rectify the situation.

Sabdamala.com has an online video series, complete with homework assignments and lesson plans, and is free to anyone who signs up. It currently has 20 lessons plans, each lesson plan covering two letters, and 20 homework assignments to go with each lesson plan.

All the videos are in English, so that they are relevant to children who are unfamiliar with spoken Nepali.
